OBIT: Lois J. Smail (Kittanning)
Lois J. Smail, 72, of Kittanning, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at her residence.
She was born May 2, 1943 in Kittanning, the daughter of Russell L. and Edith D. (Wilhelm) Smail.
Lois was a lifetime resident of Kittanning and graduated from Elderton High School in 1962. She worked at the former G. C. Murphy Company in Kittanning as a grill cook and then worked as a cook at the Armstrong County Health Center until retiring in 2005.
Lois attended Whitesburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed going to the church’s game nights. She was also a member of the church’s diet club.
Lois loved tending to her flowers, reading and talking to her family and friends. She also took many trips with her cousins and cherished the memories they shared together.
She is survived by her eight cousins: Butch Smeltzer and wife, Sonnie, of Elderton, Hannah Hartman, of Kittanning, Dick Reedy and wife, Thelma, of Kittanning, Robert Reedy, of Richmond, VA, Richard Reedy and wife, Ruth, of Stowe, Ohio, Rodney Reedy and wife, Sarah, and their son, Luke, of Berlin, Pa., Margie and Stan Riggle, of Ford City, and Ed McGrady and wife, Jackie, of Vandergrift; and many other cousins and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Bauer Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ernest F. DeLuca officiating.
Interment will be in Whitesburg United Methodist Cemetery in Kittanning.
