SPORTS ZONE: Cooper Shows Athletes Must Be Aware At All Times

“No shoes, no shirt, no problem” are the lyrics to one of Kenny Chesney’s most famous songs. When he tour stopped in Pittsburgh for his annual visit, there were problems, despite most of the crowd following his advice of wearing the appropriate clothing. The city received quite a bit of backlash from the amount of trash was left sitting on the North Shore. Despite the uproar is caused, Chesney’s concert in Philadelphia this past week is causing more of a commotion.

Chesney visited the City of Brotherly Love, but the outcome left the city filling full of hate towards one person. No, it’s not Chesney. It’s Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper who has all eyes pointing his direction. Cooper attended the concert and was under the influence of alcohol. Reportedly, Cooper was upset that he wasn’t allowed backstage at the concert and his tirade was caught on an iPhone from a concert goer.

“I will jump that fence and fight every (N-word) here, bro.”

The Caucasian Cooper said about a black security guard. In the age we live in, of course the video went viral. Cooper offered a public apology and you could tell he felt guilty. Some of his teammates, including Michael Vick, said that while it offended him, he forgave him. Others on the team, however, weren’t quick to forgive.

You have to wonder if receiver Jeremy Maclin didn’t suffer an injury, if Cooper would be off the team. Since he can help them win, don’t count on him being released.
