Hundreds March in Ford City Halloween Parade
Cousins Landen, Layten and Laylie Bowser and Beau Anthony won $50 after winning the Float Division contest.
The Ford City Halloween Parade, led by the Armstrong Sr. High River Hawks Band -under the director of Jason Venesky - last night included 350 marchers and six floats.
Each costumed marcher received a gold coin provided by the Ford City Lions Club, for participation.
Additional prizes were awarded based on originality and creativity to marchers in the following categories:
Float Division
First Place: “Legos”, Beau Anthony, Landen, Layten, Laylie Bowser.
Second Place: “Big Top Circus”, Cindy Solak, Jen Cogely, Autumn & Dustin Dowling, Angie Trimpey, Hannah & Michael Gingery, Austin Smith, Gabrielle & Gianna Dobransky.”
Third Place: “RxFit Family Game Night”, Kelly, Kevin, Kayla & Owen Check, Jill Emberg, Jim & Alyssa Leighton, Laney & Brady Wolfe, Ciara Stevey, Amy Anthony, Megan & Barb Goldinger.
Fourth Place: “Haunted House”, Jonathan & Jessica Crawford, Erik, Nichole, Izabella and Olivia Poorman, Tiffany Arblaster. Fifth Place: Our Precious Angels Childcare “Trick or Treat Candyland”: Harmony Warcholak, Jeremiah McCaffrey Jr., Ben & Lucas Grantz, Avery & Addison Boarts, Lukas Hooks, Jordan & Ethan McNabb, Jase, Sophia & Sylas Schrecengost, Michael Larimer. Sixth Place: Baer Beauty “Scare Hair” Kathi Baer, Cass & Emily Peirce, Ang, Josh, Nathan, Caylee, & Travis Rearick, Jinny
Garcid, Cathy Eddy.
Nine-year-old Mike Gratteri won $35 as the top individual costume. A Lenape Elementary student, Mike plans to spend the money on a new video game.
