9/10/1968 – Two suspects pleaded guilty to the fatal shooting last March 28 of Kenneth Michael Frick, 21 of Ford City, a senior honor student at Virginia Military Institute. Kenneth Eugene Perrine, 22, and Donald Hosack, 28, both residents of Mercer, PA, confessed. Two other individuals, Gary L. Batley, 19, and Arthur McConnell, 45, are going to trial.
9/10/1968 – A feasibility study will be made of the 52-acre tract of land purchased by Kittanning Borough in Rayburn Township for a new park. An ordinance was passed by Council annexing the acreage into the third ward of Kittanning.
9/10/1968 – The Pennsylvania Economy League confirmed what Kittanning residents and shoppers knew all along – Kittanning has a parking problem. The League study revealed that commercial trends over 1961-1967 indicate a growing demand for business district parking space.
9/10/1968 – Ruth Marie Noel will spend ten months in Bolivia as part of the Student Exchange Program arranged by Rotarians of District 741. She is the daughter of Mrs. Robert Noel of Pine Hill, and the late Mr. Noel. She studied Spanish for three years at the local high school before departing for Bolivia. Being educated outside the US is not new to the Noel family. Ruth’s sister, Barbara, spent her junior year of college at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
9/10/1963 - Two nurse directors at Armstrong Co. Memorial Hospital have been awarded grants by the American Public Health Service to participate in the Professional Nurses Traineeship Program for a week in Sept., and another week in November at Meadville. Mrs. Doris Sinclair, RN director of the nurses and Mrs. Erma Kulick, RN assistant director at the hospital, were selected to take part in the 2 post graduate programs. The courses are offered by Penn State University.

9/10/1943 - Goheenville- The Kuhns family received a telephone message informing them that a riding horse stolen from a pasture field on 30 Aug. has been found at Wildwood, Butler Co. The message came from Butler Barracks of the State Police.
