OBIT: Lucille Montgomery (Rimersburg)

Lucille Montgomery, 94, of Rimersburg, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Golden Living Personal Care Home in Shippenville.

She was born August 12, 1921 in Armstrong County, the daughter of Edward and Sadie (Cochran) Springer.

Lucille was a lifetime resident of Rimersburg and had attended the Baker Street Church of God.

Lucille enjoyed sewing, canning, cooking and baking and was a member of the Busy Bee Homemakers Club. She also volunteered at the Clarion County Fair for many years and for the American Cancer Society.

Lucille dedicated her life to caring for her family and loved to spend time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, Denny S. Montgomery and wife, Billie Jo of Rimersburg; daughter, Carol D. Reed and husband, Randy of Rimersburg; seven grandchildren: Chrissy Shirey and husband, Brian of Parker, Mendy Stewart and husband, Brice of Emlenton, Megan Plunkard of Coraopolis, Dusty Burns and husband, Clint of Sligo, Brian Reed of Rimersburg, Amber Montgomery and Brandon Kriebel of Rimersburg, and Ashley George and husband, Matt of Butler; and seven great-grandchildren: Chase and Trenton Shirey of Parker, Gavin Kriebel of Rimersburg, Carter Burns of Sligo, Caden Burns of Sligo, Kord Stewart of Emlenton, and Patience Kriebel of Rimersburg.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Donald A. Montgomery whom she married August 20, 1944 and who died June 25, 2006; and four sisters: Goldie Swartz, Josephine Buzzard, Isabelle Summerville, and Della Traister.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Milliron officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery in Rimersburg.
