OBIT: Carolyn L. Suttor (Bremen, Ind.)

Carolyn L Suttor, 86, of Bremen, Indiana went to be with her savior on Sunday, January 25, 2015.

Carolyn was born near Bremen on August 9, 1928 to Elias and Mary “Mae” Schumacher.

Carolyn studied at Purdue University for two years. Carolyn worked as an executive secretary in Chicago before marrying Edward “Ed” Suttor in 1954 and later worked as a secretary to the principal of the Bremen Middle School for over 10 years.

She was gifted at cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening, and loved to entertain. Her sweet disposition stayed with her until the end, and had a kind word for everyone.

Carolyn spent her life serving her Lord. She was a faithful member of the Bremen Missionary Church, and she and her husband have been involved with the Gideons for over 40 years, both in Indiana and Pennsylvania. She will be missed.

She is survived by her husband and her four children: Randall (Bonnie) Suttor, Cindy (Eric) Meister, Michael Suttor, and Monica (Scott) Allison, and her sister, Betty (Richard) Miller; 10 grandchildren: Nate (Jem) Suttor, Rachel (Kyle) Wallner, Bryce Woodyard, Kevin Woodyard, Aaron Meister, Amy Meister, Timothy Suttor, Josh Suttor, Christopher Allison, and Jeremy Allison; and one great-­grandson, Augustine “Gus” Suttor.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and by her daughter-­in-­law (Cathy Suttor).

A funeral service will be held at Bremen Missionary Church at 7PM on Thursday, January 29, 2015, with Pastor Gary Hinkle officiating.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3-7 PM at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be given to Gideons International.

The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.
