OBIT: Helen L. Hellgren (Dayton, PA)

Helen L. Hellgren, 86, of Dayton, passed away on November 8, 2014 at ACMH Hospital.

She was born on June 10, 1928 to Thomas and Norma (Rupp) Marshall in Dayton, PA. Helen worked for over 20 years at Big River Manufacturing. She devoted her life to caring for others. Her great sense of humor will be missed.

She was a member of NuValley Presbyterian Church.

Helen is survived by her three sons - John (Andrea) Hellgren, Jr. of Hinesville, GA, Tom Hellgren of Dayton and Dennis (Janet Kay) Hellgren of Rural Valley; 8 grandchildren - Rhett, Raena, Maria, Eric, Trisha, Kurt, Bob and Trina; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters - Betty Livengood of East Brady and Joanne Kimmel of Sagamore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband - John C. Hellgren, Sr., whom she was married to for 63 years and passed away on August 11. 2011.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home in Rural Valley. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11AM at the funeral home with the Reverend Bruce Shannon officiating. Burial will take place in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
