OBIT: James A. Rearick (formerly of Elderton)
James A. Rearick, 74, of Turtle Creek - formerly of Elderton - died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Hamilton Hills Personal Care Home.
He was born November 26, 1940 in Plumcreek Township, the son of Edwin A. and Claire E. (Wingard) Rearick.
James spent most of his life in the Elderton area before moving to the Monroeville area in 2010. For 32 years he worked for Peoples Gas Company, serving as the Girty Station engineer until his retirement in 1995. He also owned a cabinet shop for over 46 years and was a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church.
James’ favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing with his wife, Janet.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Janet M. (Johnston) Rearick, whom he married May 6, 1960; son, William Rearick and wife, Rhonda, of Hookstown; two daughters: Kimberly Coury and husband, Chris, of Plum, and Jodie Rearick, of Monroeville; four grandchildren: Angie Schrecengost, Justin Schrecengost, Alexis Rearick and Brenden Rearick; and great-grandchild, Taylor Wood.
James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edwin and Donald Rearick.
A memorial service will take place at a later date, with arrangements through Bauer Funeral Home.
