OBIT: Walter N. Crytzer (Ford City)
Walter N. Crytzer, 83, of Ford City, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, in the Armstrong County Health Center in Kittanning.
He was born April 1, 1931, in Manorville, a son of the late John Neal and Regina Elsie (Claypool) Crytzer.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War as a Corporal in the 382nd Military Police Battallion in Manheim, Germany.
Walter was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Manorville. He retired from Arner’s Hardware in Ford City in 1986 after 38 years of service.
For many years, Walter served on the board of directors of the former Lenape Heights Development Corp. He also served as a councilman in Manorville for many years.
He was member of the Ford City V.F.W., and enjoyed fishing.
Walter is survived by two nephews: Larry (Arlene) Fox of Tyngsboro, MA, and Charles (Jayne) Fox of Kittanning; a niece, Lisa (Robert) Kiehl of Ford City; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin C. Crytzer; two sisters: Dorothy B. Warhait and Laura Fox; and his companion,
Dorothy Noble.
Friends were welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City. Funeral services were held at 11AM, Wednesday, December 24, 2014, with Rev. Jack A. Delk officiating. Interment is in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
