Two Jailed for Pharmacy Burglary
Highland Pharmacy in West Kittanning was open for business as usual Wednesday, but two burglars stole nearly $7,000 worth of prescription drugs overnight. State Police troopers were able to apprehend the actors via a door alarm and both are now incarcerated in the Armstrong County Jail.

Two local residents are in the Armstrong County Jail this morning after they robbed Hiland Pharmacy in West Kittanning early Wednesday.
State Police in Kittanning arrested George Burdette III, 25 of Cowansville, and Jamie Davis, 22 of McGrann Wednesday morning after both were seen running from the West Kittanning pharmacy and in-possession of prescription drugs and syringes at approximately 2:45AM.
A burglar alarm alerted 9-1-1 officials to contact the state police barracks.

State police chased Burdette and Davis ran through the woods behind the pharmacy into East Franklin Township before they were apprehended and handcuffed.
After being searched, nearly $7,000 worth of prescriptions was found, including oxycodone, methadone and opana – all narcotic pain relievers. Pharmacy officials said most of the 14 different kinds of pills were returned.
Both were arraigned before District Magisterial Judge James Owen Wednesday morning and taken to Armstrong County Jail. Davis is a first-time offender and placed on $25,000 bond, whereas Burdette – who has an extensive criminal history of assault, parole violations and criminal mischief - was jailed on $50,000 bond.

Both are charged with eight felony offenses: violating the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act (CSDDCA) due to drug possession, burglary, criminal trespass, running from police, criminal mischief due to property damage, theft, receiving stolen property and retail theft. They also violated misdemeanor offenses of the CSDDCA.
The pharmacy was open during business hours Wednesday, though two doors, a cabinet and drywall were all damaged. Damage cost is estimated at $2,200.
East Franklin Township Police patrolled the area throughout the day.
