West Kittanning Driver’s License Center Services Limited Saturday
The West Kittanning Drivers License Center will not offer all available services this Saturday, March 26 because of a federally-mandated computer upgrade.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Problem Driver Pointer System (PDPS) will be upgraded as part of the process. The federal government-mandated system keeps track of all drivers whose driving privileges are sanctioned in other states who are applying for a Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Individual drivers are then reconciled before a driver’s license or learner’s permit is issued.
In addition to not being able to issue a learner’s permit or driver’s license, employees will not be able to extend permits, renew or duplicate licenses or update current addresses from previously out-of-state residents.
“We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this required upgrade may cause our customers,” said acting PennDOT Secretary Barry J. Schoch in a press release.
Permit and license testing will still be able to take place, as well as issuing photo identification cards.
Customers who pass the knowledge or on-the-road skills tests will need to return to the driver license center on or after the next business day to obtain their product.
The center will be open from 8:30AM – 4:15PM.
