OBIT: Lucille Jane Wingard (Kittanning)

Lucille Jane (Kammerdeiner) Wingard, 95, of Kittanning, died on Wednesday, March 24, 2011 at Erdley’s Person Care Home.

She was born on February 9, 1916 in Goheenville to John J. and Mary Etta (Adams) Kammerdeiner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson E. (Nash) Wingard, whom she married September 25, 1937. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Mary Wingard; five brothers: Wilbert, Kenneth, Adam, Delbert, and Stanley Kammerdeiner; and three sisters: Florence Swigart, Hazel Haggart, and Helen Burford.

Lucille was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in West Kittanning, where she served as a deaconess and teacher for many years. She will be remembered for her love and nurture of children and her family.

She is survived by five sons: Edward and wife Norma of Madison, Alabama, David E. and wife Debbie of Ormond Beach, Florida, Larry and wife Karen of Kittanning, John and wife Bonnie of Kittanning, and David C. of Blairsville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces, and nephews.

Lucille leaves behind the special caregivers who made up her family at Erdley’s Personal Care Home, where she made her home during the past 11 years.

Private graveside services will be held with interment at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington. In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree or making a donation to Children Evangelism Fellowship, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
