Traffic Pattern Switch Planned for Route 28 in South Buffalo

Beginning Monday, August 10, a traffic pattern switch will occur on Route 28, both northbound and southbound, between the Allegheny/Butler County Line and Route 3023
(Iron Bridge Road) in Buffalo Township, Butler County, and South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.

Currently, the left lane is closed on Route 28 for paving operations. Traffic will shift and the right lane will be closed.

Work includes milling, patching, and paving. While work in the right lane is being completed, milling and paving on the ramps to Route 356 will be performed during nighttime hours.

Concrete patching will be performed under the Route 356 overpass under 24 hour work periods until patching and curing is complete.

More information will follow as the project progresses.

This $2.1 million resurfacing project is being constructed by Derry Construction, Inc., and is expected to be completed in October.

PennDOT asks that motorists please slow down and use caution in the work area, as well as watch for construction vehicles in the work zone to ensure their safety and the safety of the workers.
