OPINION: Why I Plan to Vote Wolf for Governor

by Saundra McKee

In the interest of balance, I’d like to respond to Jack Bennett’s most recent piece skewering Tom Wolf. One pundit has said that we can put the fork in Tom Corbett. He’s finished. It’s pretty unusual for an incumbent to be so far behind in the polls, but as a Governor, Corbett has been a disaster for Pennsylvania. Voters need to give him the boot. Even with a Republican legislature, Corbett has done nothing for us…just one broken promise after another.

W is for workers. The largest union in the state, 800,000 members of the AFL-CIO, has unanimously endorsed Wolfe. Whether you like unions or not, no worker would have many of the benefits they deserve today without them. The AFL-CIO believes like I do that Wolfe will see our workers as the solution and not the cause of our problems. Pennsylvania has fallen from 7th to 41st in job creation(some sources claim 46th) under Tom Corbett. He has failed to require many corporations to even pay an income tax. 500,000 unemployed in our state! What an embarrassment! I’m so tired of seeing our young people forced to relocate to ‘growth’ states for employment.

O is for opportunities. Opportunities for increased revenue. Why is Pennsylvania the only major gas producing state that refuses to put a severance tax on gas extraction? Corbett would rather insure that we pay the highest gasoline prices in the nation and that we pay over twice what we were paying for vehicle registrations. Corbett lied to us about raising taxes during his first term and isn’t making any ‘no tax’ pledge for a second term. Unlike Corbett, Wolf is not a career politician who depends on taxpayers for his own salary and pension. Wolf has business experience and success in both private and public sectors. He actually has a well detailed and specific plan to make the state thrive. And yes, unlike Corbett, he won’t just whine about pension reform.

L is for liberties. Liberties for all citizens, not just the fat cats. Wolf supports a woman’s right to choose (Corbett has made more sexist remarks than space allows), marriage equity (Corbett equates gay marriage with incest) and protection of innocent children from molesters (Corbett delayed THREE years as Attorney General investigating charges against Jerry Sandusky).

F is for funding for education. The 1.1 billion dollar cuts to education are real and so is the loss of 20,000 teachers, educational opportunities for children (19 districts have cut full day kindergarten), and rise in property taxes for most districts. Wolf realizes that creating good well paying jobs requires an educated and well trained population. Public education is the number one job of state government and under Corbett we have regressed by decades. Don’t believe his ads that are often paid for by the wealthy who send their kids to elite private schools.

Among other things, Corbett has been labeled the nation’s least effective, most unpopular, out of touch and unethical governor. There are so many reasons why Wolf is the right man at this time in Pennsylvania. Whether you’re a sportsman, a veteran, a senior citizen, or anyone who hopes to make their future in our beautiful Commonwealth, you’ll hopefully see that Tom Wolf can return us to a state that we are proud of and that leads the nation in opportunities and growth.

The views expressed are those of the author.

T is for taxes - Tom Wolf has never met a tax that he didn’t like. Funny thing about taxes - everyone has to pay more and more of them, including union people and democrats. I certainly wouldn’t vote myself more taxes.

Keep this in mind - Wolf’s two cabinet shops are in York and Indiana. Thing is, that is York, PA, and Indiana, the state of Indiana. Indiana is a right-to-work state, so that makes Tom Wolf a hypocrite, to unions, in earning his fortune.

  • By jerry6, September 26, 2014 @ 8:57 AM

Ms. McKee: I agree with everything you wrote. I am also voting for Mr. Wolf. I remember Corbett when he ran the first time for governor. He said he would only run one time. He raised the gas tax and he has the nerve to say he won’t raise taxes. I remember when the school board talked about the 80 million dollars they borrowed and I think it was the new school board who talked about how much money Corbett was taking from the schools. I am all for change and I think this will be a good one. I was wondering when Jack Bennett was going to write an article. I didn’t expect anything else from what he wrote but he always gets Obama’s name in everything he writes. You didn’t disappoint me Jack.

  • By blutoblutarsky, September 26, 2014 @ 1:15 PM

Without commenting on the politics here, I will say that this article produces points and provides an argument backing each point.

This article looks like it’s put together far better than the Bennett article… and not because of the political content.

I’m sure there will be a full dose of Jensen on this thread until admin has to pick him up off the floor… again.

  • By yep, September 27, 2014 @ 11:23 AM

You just listed the very reasons I will not vote for Mr. Wolfe. Wolfe represents everything that is wrong with this country. Liberties? What a Joke. He believes in ones right to murder their unborn child. How nice of him. I bet he’s one of those guys who thinks that if you murder a pregnant woman you should be charged with murdering the baby as well but somehow doesn’t believe abortion is murder( I’ll never understand this stance by liberals). Funding for education? You mean throw money at the liberal indoctrination of my children don’t you? You got part of it right. Wolfe and more taxes. Increased revenue. Sure, he’ll increase the tax revenue. Then, like every other democrat on the planet, he’ll spend more than the increase in revenue. Now let’s address the elephant in the room. Workers. You’re tired of seeing our young relocate? I’m tired of seeing company’s relocate because the “workers” think they somehow are owed more than they are. I’m tired of seeing company’s bankrupted by greedy unions. I’m tired of unions negotiating with the people they voted into office. Overall I think your article clearly spells out why people should not vote for Mr. Wolfe. Corbett may not be the right man for the job but Wolfe certainly won’t make anything better for the working man.

  • By jorn jensen, September 29, 2014 @ 8:09 AM

Nothing political, huh Bluto? What a joke! You present the slimiest of political position - come straight out and present your case. And, you’re still hung up on me - poor you.

  • By jorn jensen, September 29, 2014 @ 8:12 AM

    Excellent comment, yep.

  • By mad-2010, September 29, 2014 @ 9:25 AM

Yep, Since you had a hard time with entitlements, why would I believe your statement about the liberal indoctrination of your children? Would you like to explain that liberal indoctrination to me, Please?

Bluto, You are Humble and Honest, that’s fine in my book. We both know one poster that is full of Rhetoric. LOL

  • By mad-2010, September 29, 2014 @ 10:37 AM

Yep, maybe you should go back to 12 hour work days 7 days a week. Tell me Yep, how did you spent your last Labor Day? You might want to Thank the Unions… LOL

  • By cartman, September 29, 2014 @ 11:17 AM

Well said, yep. The author refers to fat cats. Does she include Wolf in that category? Also, if throwing more and more money at education is the answer, why are the schools not better? Wolf wants to go after fracking. How dare they provide jobs? Wolf is lying, leftist union lackey, who attracts the same kind of followers as Obama does.

  • By blutoblutarsky, September 29, 2014 @ 3:02 PM

Jensen- Please show me where my comment mentions politics whatsoever. I simply stated which article I thought had a better presentation without getting into petty political argument. That’s all.

Apparently not talking politics is slimy? You’re such a buffoon. Give me a break.

My last statement regarding you providing a plethora of idiotic comments is already starting to come true.

  • By blutoblutarsky, September 29, 2014 @ 5:00 PM

Thanks Mad, I appreciate it. I call things like I see them without the spin.

The poster you reference made a point to “get ‘em stirred up”, but can’t handle it when things don’t go their way.

  • By mad-2010, September 29, 2014 @ 5:44 PM

Who’s throwing more and more money at education? It would be nice just to get back what that back stabbing Corbett took away from education. There are a few right-wing guys that are butt-backwards to put it mildly….

  • By Flamingo1, September 29, 2014 @ 11:19 PM

@Jorn-So tell me how the good Governor is oblivious to more than 40 of his cabinet and employees sent and received porn pics and videos. Lots of family values there and he seems oblivious. Nasty folk and nasty stuff. But he is suddenly clueless and it was not on his watch. Yeah right.

  • By Uncle Ferd, September 30, 2014 @ 1:07 AM

    Saundra -

“W” - Many union members that I know are unhappy with their unions. Some are no longer employed because their unions rendered their services unaffordable. In fact, within the last 6 weeks, over 70 of the represented labor folks where I work just got laid off. I only mention this because it is not possible to discuss low employment in Pennsylvania without discussing cost… including the cost of organized labor, those who sponsor it unconditionally and those employers who reject it due to unaffordability. The “growth states” you mentioned are growing because many companies and workers who would like to keep earning a living have done the math.

“O” - Opportunities for increased revenue do not grow out of a governing ideology that restrains commerce. One of the most effective ways to restrain commerce is to raise corporate taxes when GDP, full-time jobs and personal income are all (still) in a conspicuous state of decline due to such niceties as the “Affordable” Care Act and anti-energy regulations that have put an enormous number of Pennsylvanians out of work. Yet, you seem to think that Tom Wolf is going to remedy these issues (by butting heads with his own party members?), and you somehow do not seem to believe that lower corporate taxes help keep more people working… and generating taxable personal income that contributes to state revenue. Incidentally, Corbett’s auto registration fee and gas tax that you have attacked are actually miniscule for each driver who chooses to use our highways, yet these costs are fair… as they are only incurred by those who drive on our roads and therefore incur highway upkeep cost. Why the criticism? Do you want non-drivers to pay to maintain our roads? Maybe you think NOBODY should pay for our highway infrastructure? Hey, that would be the same way we accumulated the debt from the Casey and Rendell years, right?

“L” - Liberties are for people of ALL walks of life and ideologies, not just yours. Is it really consistent to openly speak of your respect for personal liberties while speaking ill of someone else’s liberty to be nauseated by the thought of physical intimacy with someone of the same sex? I do admit to being ignorant of any sexist remarks that Corbett may have made or any hesitation on his part to prosecute child molesters, though I can’t help but wonder if you can really substantiate those comments… given that you do not seem to be a person that most people would go to for an objective opinion. Speaking of liberties (rights?), one of my own worries about Wolf is why Bloomberg endorsed him on gun control. Are you comfortable with Wolf on that issue?

“F” - I send my kids to PA public schools, and they/I have certainly seen the effects of the budget cuts. Of course, since PA should not be going into more debt and public schools are certainly not a revenue generator, there seems to be a compelling reason for those cuts. You passionately state that “Wolf realizes that creating good well paying jobs requires an educated and well trained population. Public education is the number one job of state government and under Corbett we have regressed by decades”…. But, isn’t Wolf associated with the same people who not only put Pennsylvania in an unfavorable cash position, but also advocated “common core” and wanted non-english-speaking illegals to populate our classrooms and dilute the teaching resources that should be devoted to our own Pennsylvania kids? I got my first taste of “common core” while helping my oldest with his homework. That was what convinced me that educational standards had regressed by decades, and the illegals magnified that feeling. Of course, these problems were not created by Corbett’s budget cuts. Our educational issues seem to grow from bad policy decisions by our national leadership and a Department of Education that does not want teachers to… um… teach. Again, will Wolf stand up to his own political party and tell the emperor that he has no clothes?
Saundra, you say stuff with a lot of fervor, but I find much of it hard to agree with. If you subscribe to the notion that you shouldn’t spend more than you make, then, don’t you have to wonder about handing the keys to the governor’s office over to a guy who has already promised to increase spending? Wolf is a millionaire who has never been laid off or personally felt the effects of ANY bad fiscal policy in PA, and you AREN’T concerned that he is about to be our next governor?
    No hard feelings,
    Uncle Ferd

  • By mad-2010, September 30, 2014 @ 5:35 AM

Corbett is Toast and the right-wing guys on this blog know it. I for one can’t wait to have a new face in office.

I agree about the porn pics and vids bad stuff there and Corbett is the man in charge!!! Corbett is Toast….

  • By mad-2010, September 30, 2014 @ 7:18 AM

Bluto, I’m sure old Dick Dastardly will come crawling out of the woodwork as usual followed by his Pal Muttley! LOL

  • By yep, September 30, 2014 @ 9:01 AM

    mad-
I do work 12 hour days 5 days a week and another 8 on Saturday. Unions once served a purpose in this country and I’m grateful for the men who fought for worker rights. But we now have those rights. Even non union folks have them. They are written into law. So tell me, what purpose is the union serving today? It isn’t protecting the worker anymore. I’ve worked on both sides of the negotiating table. I’ve been a union rep. and I’ve been a member of management. I’ve seen what goes on behind closed doors. You’re not talking to somebody who lacks experience with this stuff.

  • By sickofpayingforit, September 30, 2014 @ 6:54 PM

If we fired everyone who sent or received or watched a porno pic or video, we would completely collapse the global economy within two weeks!

Legal aged people in those things are a non-issue, at best.

  • By jorn jensen, October 1, 2014 @ 7:17 AM

Flamingo, don’t expect me to support porn among very, very busy taxpayer-paid government employees. Fire them, union or not, fire them, and get on with the business of managing the Commonwealth. But, of course, a liberal would blame Corbett. True to form. Now, with that done, let’s get on to taxes and cutting them and the size of government.

  • By goober, October 1, 2014 @ 9:14 AM

if my memory serves me the money lost on education was federal stimulus money.when the gov stopped sending it corbett just didnt raise taxes to replace it.he just left the local school boards a reason to blame him while they do it.dont take it wrong,i really dont think much of other things he has done but that argument doesnt make sense.

  • By blutoblutarsky, October 1, 2014 @ 12:27 PM

For everyone saying porn at work is a non-issue. Incorrect. It is. Whether it is a government job, union job, private job… it’s all the same. You can’t view it or distribute it in the workplace. If you don’t believe me, ask any current HR manager.

Also, one comment/ question on the union convo. Correct, there are labor laws on the books now. If unions are disbanded, what are the chances of those laws being changed?

  • By blutoblutarsky, October 1, 2014 @ 12:28 PM

Apparently Jensen couldn’t find anything regarding politics in my original post.

    Shocker.

  • By jerry6, October 1, 2014 @ 4:14 PM

Jensen: There you go again with your liberal business. You can’t write a thing without throwing that word in there.

  • By mad-2010, October 2, 2014 @ 5:45 AM

Goober.. After further review, you maybe right..

However, I still think Corbett is a Bum….

  • By mad-2010, October 2, 2014 @ 6:13 AM

Yep… First, I’m glad I didn’t have to work a 60-plus hour work week to make an above average living for myself and family, Wow.. What I think you missed is that you don’t have to work 60-plus hours a week and the union people that made the labor law possible for You had to work, or else be without a job! Big Difference. Also, I’m glad that you are grateful for the union men and women who fought and Died to give you workers rights.

What purpose is the unions serving today, you ask, Same as always, better benefits, better working conditions, and good wages along with pensions and medical plans. The latest move for companies today is no pensions outside of a 401K and poor medical if any and removal of retiree medical benefits, just look at the latest worker benefit move by Consul Energy. They just took back retiree medical benefits and now offer no pension plan other than a 401k.. They save money and the worker gets a little bit of the Shaft!

  • By mad-2010, October 2, 2014 @ 6:38 AM

Bluto, I think Dick Dastardly is in Damage Control Mode. LOL

  • By jorn jensen, October 2, 2014 @ 7:29 AM

Well-done Uncle Ferd and yep. Bluto and jerry6, quit worrying about me so much and stick to the topic.

  • By mad-2010, October 2, 2014 @ 9:37 AM

sickof… Your statement “If we fired everyone who received or sent or watched porn pic or a video, we would completely collapse the global economy within two weeks!” Do you have any facts to support that statement?

Somewhat unrelated: I just read the other day that 10 percent of the females at the University of Oregon have been raped! Also, the White House has said that sex crimes are Epidemic on U.S. College Campuses! Could porn play a part in these sex crimes??

  • By jerry6, October 3, 2014 @ 7:41 AM

Jensen: But I do worry about you and your state of mind. Your mind is so brainwashed that you don’t seem to deal in reality. Your mind runs in one cycle and it is very worrisome. You are like a fungus that you can’t get rid of no matter how hard you try.

  • By localtaxpayer, October 3, 2014 @ 7:45 AM

If you want to pay more in taxes = vote for Wolfe.

  • By blutoblutarsky, October 3, 2014 @ 7:56 AM

Here we go… when Jensen talks his way into a corner he asks everyone else to stay on topic (there may have been one post that was off topic).

Next up, he’ll whine to admin for people to quit picking on him lol

  • By blutoblutarsky, October 3, 2014 @ 7:58 AM

I believe I missed where asking me to “state my position” was one of the topics of convo. Typical!

  • By taxpoor, October 3, 2014 @ 8:28 AM

@ Mad Porn might add to it some . But I believe the lack of family values and respect for authority in todays youth is the blame. And I believe that all started when Government and yes I’m going to say it Liberals stuck their nose in our schools business. No paddling no discipline leads to out of control kids with no respect. Now instead of going to the office and getting paddled. They go to the doctor and put on meds.
I agree the unions made a voice for labor in this country. But as I have heard so many times on here from you guys it’s time to move on. The union’s won and then became corrupt they kept pushing and become such a burden for the company’s that factory’s closed down. Construction unions are working because of Obama’s shovel ready jobs. Jobs the government created for union votes. Jobs that made this President create the highest debt in history and debt our grand children will be paying for.
If this country lasts that long.
The teacher’s and state unions are thriving still. WONDER WHY. Government needs more money to pay pensioner’s they just raise taxes. Private business cant do that. So when taxes and labor get to high Company’s move to another state or country. Ahh wait a minute that’s what Wolf did with his .
I’ll stay with Corbett. He didn’t Lie . He done what he said he would do. He balanced the budget. He’s fighting to keep jobs in the state. He is smart enough to know that if you want these companies to stay and drill here the jobs and revenue for community’s they create far out way the tax money they could gouge them for.
I’m sorry but the Liberal way of thinking that the companies and government OWES us is what’s ruining this country. Hard work and long hours is the way life is. Those of us that want more money stay late and work for a better life. And no I’m not sharing and no you don’t deserve to live and vacation and spend like your neighbor. What you do have is a right to go out and work as many hours and jobs that it takes to live like your neighbor. But that is not the liberal way. I want what they have. I only want to work a 40 hour week. I want government to pay for my health care and so on and so on.
I don’t understand how anyone can support these Democrat’s and especially this President with what they have done to this country in the last six years. But then again you hope and change guys are true believers. It is painfully clear that there are far more I WANT WHAT THEY HAVE people in this country than I HAVE EARNED WHAT I GOT people. And we can all see how that’s working out for us cant we.
Wait it was Bushes fault for the last six years of our Nation deteriorating into a third world country . It will be better if you just give us another chance honest. Theirs your HOPE and theirs your promise.
    Fire away boys.

    mad-

I am going to end my part of the pornographic conversation on this blog. It is a G-rated site, and the topic, and overall one-upsmanship spirit of the bloggers, lend themselves to becoming increasingly inappropriate for any younger participants.

I will be available for the next hot topic…….

  • By mad-2010, October 5, 2014 @ 4:19 PM

Sickof.. If you felt this way about the G-rated site, why did you post anything at all regarding porn?

  • By sickofpayingforit, October 5, 2014 @ 5:35 PM

    mad-

I explained my position pretty clearly in the preceding post.

  • By mad-2010, October 5, 2014 @ 5:43 PM

taxpoor… According to estimates from the Federal Department of Education about 200,000 students were paddled in public schools in the 2009-2010 school year. (the latest statistics I could find.) Also, Paddling in private schools is lawful in all but two states! Now what taxpoor? Seems you are not exactly correct in your statements.

Also, I guess the cost of the last three wars, the housing bust and wall street meltdown of 2008 (under the last republican President) have nothing to do with the state of the economy today, I’m surprised!

    Yada,Yada,Yada the liberals did it!!

Do you have any more Right-wing Rhetoric?

  • By mad-2010, October 5, 2014 @ 6:44 PM

Private-action federal Fair Labor Standards Act cases have increased steadily since 2008, according to federal judicial statistics. In the fiscal year 2013, more than 7,700 cases were filed, up from 5,302 in 2008.

Workplace experts say the rise in lawsuits coincides with the growth of a scheme, called misclassification, in which companies try to cut costs by wrongly classifying regular employees as independent contractors to avoid tax obligations. The expansion in lawsuits largely has been in the Private Sector, with the biggest payouts coming in class action type lawsuits!

I guess there is no real need to protect American workers any more, according to the right-wing people on this blog!!!

Yada,Yada,Yada The Liberals did it!! LOL

  • By mad-2010, October 5, 2014 @ 6:54 PM

I understand your position Very Well, sickof…

  • By sickofpayingforit, October 5, 2014 @ 10:58 PM

Union’s should be broken into two categories. Public and private sector.

Private sector unions are absolutely needed to keep corporate America in check. Congress makes too much money off of corporate America to care anymore. The goal of those 1%ers is them, and the poor, with nothing in between. The private sector unions pretty much have dictated what ALL workers get, not just their membership roles and it probably would be wise to remember this, or at least look more closely into this, before simply dismissing the private sector union’s necessity in 2014.

Public sector unions are not needed, generally speaking. Those jobs will never be subjected to unsafe working conditions, or slave wages. There are plenty of laws in place to guarantee safe working conditions for them, that will be followed as a public sector entity. Their existence is merely to squeeze the tax payers for more money for the member’s personal gain. The article on the secretaries or whatever group was considering a strike or whatever had me in stitches. One, why do they even have a union? Two, why should we, the tax payers, give them a single cent more when those jobs could all be filled within 48 hours at the current package, or possibly even less? That is probably most people’s issues with unions right there. The fact they go way past “protecting” workers and serve to threaten disruption of public services if their demands are not met. Some would possibly consider this extortion. Seriously, what possible grievance could the ASD secretaries have? They don’t work night shift, weekends, have way more holiday’s off than any private sector employee does, the major holidays come with nice blocks of off-time, etc. At some point, we tax payers need to say enough is enough, and basically take it or leave it, no? It has to be a two way street and those issues are why non-union private sector people probably have this stigma with unions all together, when they are clearly two separate cases.

  • By jerry6, October 6, 2014 @ 8:17 AM

Taxpoor: You have to admit this country is in better shape now than when George Bush left office. The unemployment rate is 5.9%. What was when Bush left office. The car industry is booming. What would it have been if Romney would have been in there and he said “Let them go bankrupt.” The teachers pensions are not the only pension causing problems. Why don’t these politicians cut there pensions and this would sure help. I know of two republicans who hate Obama but have the Obama care insurance now and they are very happy with it. Let the Democrats rule and we are looking better than when the republicans were in there. L. Graham wants to put boots on the ground in Iraq along with John “war lord” McKain. I hope their kids and grandkids are the first to sign up to go. In spite of all of the no votes from congress that Obama gets, this country is still better off than when Bush left office.

  • By mad-2010, October 6, 2014 @ 5:55 PM

Due to the right-wing Rhetoric on this topic I will suspend any further posts, until the next topic!!

Until then Yada,Yada,Yada the Liberals did it!!
    LOL

  • By taxpoor, October 7, 2014 @ 7:33 AM

Jerry6: You can keep saying it to yourself and others on here. But that doesn’t make it true. Obama has been the worst president in history. The numbers they produce are false. Ok lets talk cabinet members . Pelosi (communist) Holder (crook). I’ll go no further. Obama ( muslim non American born anti constitution freedom hating semi pro golfer). Country’s in better shape. Are you serious.

  • By localtaxpayer, October 7, 2014 @ 7:44 AM

Jerr6 - This country is NOT better since Bush left office….. Food stamps have double….taking more of my tax money…. we have lost more freedoms….Welfare and SSI (which I believe more the 50% of these people could work, everyone I know on it could work and have fake or made up ailments) Have more than tripled. And now they are taking our tax money to pay for someone’s insurance. Why can’t they pay for their own…get a job to pay for it? Let’s not even go near abortion… plan and simple murder!!!.. Five minutes after they cut off an American’s head, your great Obama went golfing and smiled for the cameras… What a disgrace!!!

  • By sickofpayingforit, October 7, 2014 @ 9:57 PM

A lot of you give the presidency waaaaaaay too much credit! They aren’t able to do everything that they get credit/criticism for, plain and simple. Not enough time in the day…. The only real issue you could possibly have with them is their cabinet choices, and some of those are bought and paid for by contributions. Sure, he signs wherever they put the little highlighted sticky thing with an “x” on it, but corporate America pays the way for people to get elected, with the understanding that they will have people in-place on the political battlefield, on the high ground where they can do their bidding the best. I do cede that they are the figureheads, the public face, that is the target for all commentary, and that is fine. I just don’t believe for one second that the president has enough time to even read all of the paper that comes across his desk on a single day. America, and the world, is a pretty big place that would generate a lot of reading material to be properly briefed………..

Heck, we have this in Armstrong County politics even, with that marketing position that was created after the election. I thought I read where that newly-created position was supposed to turn Armstrong into Hollywood East, or something like that. Luckily, I haven’t had to wait behind too many studio vans at the red lights lately, and traffic is still bearable…….

  • By jerry6, October 8, 2014 @ 7:48 AM

Localtaxpayer: They showed Obama going golfing and they also at the same time showed Bush right after 911 on the golf course. He gave a little speech and then he said “watch this shot” hitting the golf ball. I agree with you on the welfare and access card. Every time I go to Sprankle’s in Kittanning, I see these young people using access cards. It disgusts me. These people on welfare should be made to work at any job they can get and then make up the amount they would get in welfare. These women who have more than one baby while on welfare should be told, no more money. See, us liberals and conservatives can agree on something without being nasty. Just tell the true facts.

tax poor: Do you ever leave this area and get out of Kittanning? People say how bad things are but I don’t see people driving old cars anymore. There sure are a lot of cars on the road, traffic jams every where. Where do these people get money for gas. I see a lot of help wanted signs all over the place. Maybe they aren’t the jobs that people used to have but there are jobs. People are afraid to leave this one little area to get a job. You have to cut the apron strings sooner or later. Get away from Kittanning and Ford City and see what is out there in the world, you would be surprised.

taxpoor: Show me the proof that Obama is a Muslim and Pelosi is a communist and I will believe you. I have my toes and fingers crossed that McConnel doesn’t get re-elected. Any politician that comes out and says his number one goal is to see that Obama doesn’t get re-elected has no business being in office. His number one goal should be to help the people. His goal didn’t come true. People should work together to gets things done for this country, not worry about whether it is a liberal or conservative achieving this goal.

    Jerry-

Our current school board ran on a platform that said NOTHING about what they wanted to do, and only outlined what they didn’t want to happen a.k.a. renovations. Is this the same thing as what you are railing on McConnel about?

sickof… your 10/7 post was the best one I’ve seen here for a while.

Some people believe everything they see on the news and don’t realize the people that own the media outlets are paid well to make sure you hear one side of things.

A-plus, sickofpayingforit, on our awesome school board. I wonder how many people really understood that truth? Telling you what they were against, not what they were going to do.

jerry6 still supports Obama and his cabinet = hopelessly lost.
