OBIT: Betty J. Feeney (Kittanning)

Betty Jane (Heasley) Feeney, 88, of Kittanning, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, at ACMH Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born February 24, 1927, in Leechburg, the daughter of Walter and Violet (Henry) Heasley.

Betty was a graduate of Leechburg High School and had worked as a secretary for Dr. Milliron’s office and was a store clerk at Adam’s Jewelry. She was a member of the Kittanning First United Methodist Church, and was a former member of a few organizations such as the Applewold Fireman’s Auxiliary, the Applewold Council, and on the board of the Brookland Cemetery. Betty was also in charge of the church prayer chain, belonged to the ACMH Heart Rehab Club, and in her younger years, was on a bowling league.

She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed caring for her flowers, sitting on her porch, and going for car rides with her son, Mark. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, grandmother and will best be remembered for having a kind heart and loving everyone she knew.

Betty will be deeply missed by her four children; her three sons: James B. Feeney and his wife, Marsha of Applewold, Kevin M. Feeney and his wife, Connie of Worthington, and Mark A. Feeney of Applewold; her daughter: Kimberly S. Rush and husband, Barry of Kittanning; four grandchildren: Kara Bartolovic and husband, Eric, Michael Feeney and wife, Jamie, Kayla McGregor and husband, Joe, and Matthew Rush; five step-grandchildren: Krystle Rikal, Michelle Menehyk, Michael Beckett, Ryan Rikal, and Marrissa Menehyk; six great-grandchildren: Benjamin Bartolovic, Bella Bartolovic, Shiloh Feeney, Zoey Feeney, Hudson Feeney, and Otto Feeney; two step-great-grandchildren: Gage Pry and Brandon Beckett; and a brother: Donald L. Heasley of Yardley, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 63 years: James F. Feeney whom she married June 20, 1947 and who died September 25, 2010; a brother: Marlin Heasley; and two sisters: Leona Williamson and Mildred Cibik.

Relatives and friends may visit from 3-8 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Bauer Funeral Home in Kittanning,

Additional visitation will be from 1:30 PM until the time of funeral services at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, 301 N Jefferson Street, Kittanning, with the Reverend Herb Reefer and the Reverend Wade Berkey co-officiating.

Burial will be in Brookland Cemetery in Freeport.
