
This photo from the Armstrong County Historical Museum shows Market Street in Kittanning from the bridge to the courthouse. Notice that there are just trees on the 300 block, indicating that block apparently was not developed at this era of time.
10/28/1969 - Today’s paper was sprinkled throughout with pictures of local people caught by the Leader-Times photographer on a fine fall day. They included: A front page spooky photo of the Edward Palinski house in Pine Hill, which the family had spent hours decorating to welcome little ghosts and goblins on their trick and treat tour. Standing ready at the doorway were Mrs. Palinski and her niece and nephew, Connie and Richard Ebbitt. A photo of Ricky, Annette, Cindy and Randy Shaffer raking leaves for their grandmother, Mrs. George Shaffer, at her home on North Water St. The H. W. Roofners taking their dog “Buddy” out for a brisk walk. Nicole and Joey Recupero of Pine Hill peeking out from under their tent house in a pile of leaves. Richard Steindel of 816 N. 10/28/1969 - More than 100 people yesterday attended the first session of the retail selling clinic sponsored by the Kittanning Rotary Club. There was no charge to the salespeople to take the course.
10/28/1969 – Mr. & Mrs. Thomas H. Lloyd of Ford City RD1 will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary today in their home. Mr. Lloyd, 82, and Mrs. Lloyd, 80, were married October 28, 1909 by Justice of the Peace D. A. Goldman. The couple has seven children: Mrs. Charles (Luella) Comperatore of Lower Burrell; Evelyn Schrecengost of Pattonville; Mrs. Stanley (Katheryn) Bialas of Creighton; Mrs. James (Betty) Spencer of Brackenridge; Mrs. James (Jean) Boney of Ford City RD1; Carl and Kenneth Lloyd of Ford City RD1.

10/28/1949 - The Kittanning Foundry and Machine Co. made its last pour at its present location, Campbell St. at N. Grant Ave. The owners, A. J. and Art Lorenzetti, who have operated the foundry for the past ten years, said the new building will be used for an automobile agency.
