Connie Elaine Fatseas, age 67, passed away peacefully in Kobacker House after a brief illness.
She was the oldest of four children born in South Buffalo Township near Freeport, Pa. to Kenneth Briggs Acre and Betty Louise (Rimmel) Acre. Connie graduated from Freeport High School, Freeport Pa. and Clarisa School of Design, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She married Emanuel Thomas Fatseas from Vandergrift, Pa. in 1973 and joined him in Ohio where they resided their entire life, mostly in the greater Columbus area and lastly in Sycamore, Ohio.
Connie was passionate about childhood nutrition which she followed into a career in school food service for twenty-nine years, briefly as a cook, then for the last twenty years as the director of food service first for Grandview Heights City Schools then for Reynoldsburg City Schools, retiring in 2013. Connie founded and led a nonprofit summer meal program for children in need, and was an active volunteer at the Seneca County Department of Aging. She had a lifelong passion for reading and participated in many literary groups.
Connie is survived by her husband of forty-four years, a sister Nancy Eckman of Murrysville, Pa., a brother Kenneth (Cathy) Acre of Marysville, Tn., a daughter Jennifer Fatseas Miller (Jason) of Sycamore, Ohio, a son Jeffrey Thomas Fatseas (Shannon) of Columbus, Ohio, five grandchildren (Hannah, Olivia, Emily, Gracie Miller and in utero, Beau Fatseas,) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Virginia Daly (Robert).
Funeral services for Connie will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00-10:00 A.M.
