Route 422 Ramps at Route 8 Closed This Weekend

Armstrong County motorists going to Butler County should watch for detours. The Route 8 interchange from Route 422 will be closed again this weekend.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists traveling in North Butler of scheduled ramp closures of State Route (SR) 422 and SR 8 starting Friday, September 27 at 8PM and ending on Monday, September 30 at 12AM, weather permitting.

The ramp closures will not affect motorists travelling on SR 422 or SR 8. The ramp closures include those traveling from SR 8 North to SR 422 West and SR 422 West to SR 8 North.

Motorists can view a detour map online.

As part of PennDOT’s Butler Bypass Project, Lindy Paving, Inc. will work on these ramps during this time to mill and repair the roadway and then pave to improve the ride quality and to tie the ramps into the new pavement on SR 422.
