West Shamokin Loses a Heart-breaker on Senior Night

by Jake DeLuca

The West Shamokin Wolves (4-5) and the Northern Cambria Colts (6-3) battled at Jack E. Boyer Field and it took double overtime to decide a winner.

Colts quarterback Mark Marino connected with Nick Kirsch on a screen pass for the go ahead touchdown making the final score 12-6.

West Shamokin lead until the final minutes of the fourth quarter thanks to Dan Goldstrohm’s first touchdown of the season.

Even after the loss to Northern Cambria the Wolves will have a chance to do something only one other West Shamokin football team has ever done - make the playoffs.

The Wolves final regular season game will be away against the West PAC Ferndale Yellow Jackets with kick-off set for Friday at 7:00.
