Community Survey Could Improve YMCA
by Jonathan Weaver
An important link will be added soon to the Richard G. Snyder YMCA’s website: a community needs survey.
Marketing and Brand Advocate Bethany Riggle said Executive Director Jack Clevesy has been working with Y USA to development the survey “I think since before he even stepped foot in our doors.”
“People can go and take this short survey online and help us see what the needs are in the community,” Riggle said.
Clevesy added that, combined with the results of a demographic study, the results will drive a new YMCA strategic plan that would predict future activities.
“We want to find out exactly what the expectations are from the community to the YMCA. It’s going to be huge when we get that data back,” Clevesy said. “We’re going to try to reach out as far as we can in Armstrong County so we can be successful.
“You assume a lot when you don’t have that kind of information, but when you have this information, it’s the people in the community telling you directly what they’re expecting. The big thing the team’s working on now is identifying any kind of gaps to being a member or affording our programming.”
Member benefits will also increase during the next session.
“There are maybe 200 families here on a Saturday – that is two percent. So what does everyone else want to do?” Clevesy asked.
All survey results will be confidential.
