The West Shamokin Wolves record setting season continued with a win last night on senior night as the Wolves were able to take down the United Lions by a final score of 4-1.

It did not take long for the Wolves to strike first as sophomore Liam Alese scored the first goal of the match about eleven minutes in to give the Wolves a 1-0 lead.

Alese wasn’t done there as he tallied two more goals in the game, which was good for a hat trick. The other goal scored from the Wolves was off the foot of Jack Rearick.

It has been a ‘fairy-tale’ season according to Wolves Head Coach Joe Treglia.

“It’s like a fairytale. Every game I sit there and it’s surreal that we keep winning. I don’t know if I could have saw this before the season. I knew we were going to compete, but we have played some close ones and we are on an unreal streak right now that I hope doesn’t quit. ”

Treglia went on to praise his team for setting a new West Shamokin single season record for wins.

“It’s funny, the last couple games we actually set a little West Shamokin history for most wins in a season. The most wins (in the program) before this season was seven, and we are up to nine now and we clinched the playoffs last Friday for the first time in ten years. We are going to end up at the end of the season over .500 (win percentage) which is the first time in school history that has happened.

The Wolves have three more games to go until they attempt to climb to the top of the ladder. Playoffs start on October 24th.
