OBIT: Edward Lee Toy, Jr. (Adrian)
Edward Lee Toy Jr., 55, of Adrian, died Thursday, September 17, 2015, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 3, 1960, in Kittanning, to Edward L. and Mildred (Ruffner) Toy Sr.
A lifelong resident of Adrian, Ed was a truck driver for 11 years at Budman and spent the last 26 years in the Carpenter Union Local 759.
He was a member of Montgomeryville Baptist Church, Seneca Lodge No. 805 F and AM, Coudersport Consistory, Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Cowansville American Legion Post 325 and Kittanning Men’s Club.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding side-by-sides, vacationing with family and friends and playing with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, whom he married August 15, 1981, Diana “Hop” Toy; two sons: Dustin Toy (wife, Janelle) and Dillon Toy, both of Adrian; two grandsons: Hunter and Gavin Toy, of Adrian; three sisters: Kas Wolfe (husband, Pork), of Cowansville, Pat Wolfe (husband, Bob), of Adrian, and Cheryl Hooks (husband, George), of Cowansville; brother, Eric Toy (wife, Dee), of Cowansville; sister-in-law, Debra “Deb” Rodgers (husband, Roy), of Cowansville; three brothers-in-law: David “Joe” Freeman (wife, Karla), of Adrian, Duane “Doc” Freeman, of Adrian, and Denis “Pize” Freeman (wife, Teri), of Kittanning; sister-in-law, Doris “Dort” Gearhart (husband, Axle), of Brackenridge; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Chester and Catherine Ruffner, and James and Ora Toy; and mother and father-in-law, Emery and Eleanor Freeman.
Friends will be received from 7-9PM tonight - Friday, September 18, 2015 - in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville.
Additional visitation will be offered from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Saturday, September 19, 2015 - at the funeral home, as well as from 1PM until the time of funeral services at 2PM Sunday, September 20 at the Limestone-Reesedale Church of God.
The Rev. Robert French will be officiating.
Interment will be in the Croyle Cemetery.
