Woman Forced Off Road Files Charges
An Elderton man was put in jail and charged with aggravated assault following an incident Saturday at approximately 3:30 AM.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Keith Sobecki, David Andrew Plavi, 31, is accused of seeing a car coming the opposite way on State Route 2006 in Cowanshannock Township, turning around and following that car. Plavi began driving in an aggressive manner trying to force the vehicle off the roadway.
Plavi followed the vehicle for approximately 4 miles and forced the vehicle off the road, causing the 27-year-old unidentified Dayton woman to strike a tree head on over an embankment. The woman suffered moderate injuries.
In addition to aggravated assault, Plavi is also accused of simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, tampering with evidence, reckless and careless driving, as well as numerous traffic offenses.
Plavi was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge J. Gary Decomo and placed in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
