OBIT: Roger Wheat, Jr. (Kittanning)

Roger Lee Wheat, Jr., 50, of Kittanning died Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Boggs Township as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Born February 24, 1965 in Kittanning, he was the son of Roger Lee and Roxie (Shook) Wheat, Sr.

Roger was a member of the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church in South Buffalo Township. He was employed as a pharmacist at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in West Kittanning. He was a graduate of Freeport High School, the University of
Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Pharmacy School.

He enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his children.

He is survived by his parents of Kittanning; one son: Roger Lee Wheat III of Kittanning; one daughter: Caitlin Brynn Wheat of Kittanning; two brothers: Brent Allan Wheat of Kittanning and Lance R. Wheat of New Kensington; one
uncle: William (Lynn) Shook of South Carolina and several cousins.

Friends and family will be welcomed at the at the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 11 AM with the Reverend Mark Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Slate Lick Cemetery.
