OBIT: Duane Clark (Kittanning)
Duane Lee Clark, 89, of Kittanning, died on Saturday, August 8, 201 5 in the Armstrong County Health Center.
He was born on August 22, 1925 in Kittanning, a son of William Bernard “Ben” Clark and Freda Ruth (Bowser) Clark.
Duane attended Kittanning High School, leaving for military duty during World War II. He served with the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. He received his Kittanning High School diploma at a school assembly with other veterans in 2002.
After discharge from the Army, Duane’s life work was in the brick-laying industry. His work took him all over the world. After retirement, he enjoyed life in Kittanning as well as his home in Punta Gorda, Florida. He loved yard work, his home, traveling, and family.
He is survived by three sons: Michael Clark and wife Marie of Kittanning, Scott Clark and his wife Marilyn of Kittanning, Chris Lamison and wife Nancy of East Earl, PA; a son-in-law: David Engel of Port Charlotte, FL; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Beverly Jane (Rhodes) Clark in 1967; his second wife: Olga K. (Tatsak) Clark on July 7, 2015; two daughters: Amy Clark and Penny Engel; one son: Robert Lamison; a grandson: Joshua Lamison; and a brother: Richard T. Clark.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, August 10, 2015 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11AM with 1 hour of additional viewing to be held prior to the service. The Reverend John Snyder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
