OBIT: Betty J. Lightbody (Kittanning)

Betty J. Lightbody, 95, of Kittanning, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

She was born July 18, 1919 in Kittanning, the daughter of George A. and Cathryn (Wyant) McNutt.

Betty was a lifetime resident of Kittanning and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1936.

Her favorite role was that of mother and homemaker, but she was also known for being a talented seamstress.

Betty was a dedicated member of Christ Rupp Lutheran Church and her favorite hobbies were bowling, golfing and sewing.

Her memory will be cherished by her two sons: Larry, J. Lightbody and wife, Linda, of Freeport, and Gary M. Lightbody and wife, Deb, of Ford City; daughter, Karen Fulton and Keith Clark, of Florida; seven grandchildren: Curt Lightbody and wife, Kara, Scott Lightbody and wife, Andrea, Jason Lightbody and fiancé, Tammy Hite, Kelly Benasutti and husband, Brad, Rob Fulton and wife, Debbie, Michael Fulton and wife, Susie, and Craig Fulton and wife, Jillian; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Walter Bable; loving husband, Joseph L. Lightbody, whom she married August 27, 1942 and who died April 17, 1995; brother, Stewart McNutt: three sisters: Mary Louise Summers, Joanne Mine and Lenore McCoy; and son-in-law, Robert Fulton.

Friends will be received from 4-8 PM tomorrow - Friday, June 26, 2015 - at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Christ Rupp Lutheran Church, 288 Rupp Church Rd., Kittanning.

Burial will be in Christ Rupp Lutheran Cemetery in Kittanning.
