Freeport Student Recants Sexual Assault Story

The Pennsylvania State Police investigated an allegation of sexual assault in the Freeport School District.

According to a report released by Trooper First Class Michael Kapustik, the incident was filed with Buffalo Township Police, and then turned over to State Police once the alleged assault was determined to be outside Buffalo Township, Butler County, and actually in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.

The alleged 18-year-old victim, a student at Freeport High School, stated the incident happened with a male teacher between August 1, 2014 and January 17, 2015.

State Police met with the alleged victim and she recanted the allegation, stating she was not sexually assaulted. Further interviews could not substantiate the original rumor of the sexual assault.

The Freeport School District was advised of the findings of the investigation.
