OBIT: Edward A. Woytowish (West Kittanning)
Edward Albert Woytowish, 91, of West Kittanning died on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at ACMH Hospital.
He was born in Manorville on February 11, 1924, the son of Walter and Mae (Brown) Woytowish. He was a lifelong resident of the community.
He served in the Navy during WWII for 4-1/2 years, entering on December 9, 1942 and discharged on April 7, 1946. He was employed as a millwright at PPG in Ford City for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. After retirement, he helped his sons build their homes. He treasured his dogs, Sandy and Molly - both of whom lived 16 years - and enjoyed riding in the car with him.
He was a former member of St. Francis of Paola Church and also St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Cadogan.
He was married on August 12, 1950 to Vera I. (Bell) Woytowish. She passed away on June 8, 2002.
He is survived by 3 sons: Michael W. (Kathleen J.) Woytowish of Elderton, Paul E. (LeeAnn) Woytowish of Kittanning, and Stephen J. Woytowish of Las Vegas, NV; 5 grandchildren: Jessica Woytowish, Melanie (Jake) Symoniak, Peter (Kathryn) Woytowish, Andrew (Jessica) Woytowish, and Justine Woytowish; and 2 great-grandchildren: Carter and Jaysa Woytowish.
Visitors are welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Mantini Funeral Home in Ford City. There will be a Prayer Service at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home, followed at 10AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cadogan, with Father John Harrold, celebrant.
Interment will take place in the St. Marys Roman Catholic Cemetery.
