School Construction Tours Tomorrow
Public tours of the Armstrong Junior-Senior High School under construction along Buffington Drive in Manor Township will be available tomorrow.
From 10AM-2PM, local residents, taxpayers and students can look over construction efforts before contractors focus on work indoors during the winter season and gaze upon the Kittanning/Ford City/North Buffalo Township view from above before the school opens in August 2015 to students.
Kittanning and Ford City attendance areas will combine to form the student body of about 1,775 7th-12th grade students.
Earlier this month, Project Manager Roshelle Fennell of Reynolds Construction said most windows have been installed, and temporary heating should be available.
Exterior bricking will hopefully be completed by mid-November
“We had a really great month of September due to the great weather up there,” Fennell said.
Temperatures in the mid-30’s to 40’s are expected for the duration.
The 68-acres of land was originally donated by the Sherry Family Trust and officially approved as the school site out of the three known possibilities in May 2012.
General Contractor Hudson Group. Inc of Hermitage, Pa. received notice to begin work August 2013 after the building pad was completed.
