Kittanning Halloween Parade Draws Hundreds
Hundreds gathered last night following the Halloween parade in Kittanning at Hose Company #1 to receive prizes that included $100 as a special 75th Anniversary award for the most outstanding float or group that had originality, creativity relating to the theme of Halloween and fire fighting. Mr. Dave Fair from North Buffalo Township handcrafted a miniature horse-drawn fire wagon that won the award. There were two awards of $40 and $30 for Best-Appearing Group or Float. $20 was awarded for te Best Individual Original Costume. $10 was awarded to eight individuals with outstanding costumes, and $5 was awarded to eight honorable mentions. Everyone who signed up to be judged was awarded $1 for their efforts.
