No Charges Filed in East Franklin Crash

A crash happened nearly only a few days before in Plumcreek Township that dispatched State Police and Elderton volunteer firefighters.

The teenage driver of an East Franklin Township crash July 24 was not charged with any citations.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police report, Cory Anthony, 18 of Worthington, was traveling east in the left-hand lane of State Route 422 about 11:30am as State Troopers were traveling westbound, and lost control of his 2000 Chevrolet.

Anthony crossed the lane and onto the southern berm of the highway while attempting to counter-steer, but he struck a ditch in the median, causing him to spin and travel the opposite direction.

He came to final rest in an embankment and his vehicle rolled over and came to final rest westbound.

Anthony was transported to Allegheny Valley Medical Center with injuries to his left arm. He was at the time said to have suffered a “major injury”

Due to evidence at the scene corroborating Anthony’s claim of possible vehicle failure, no citations were issued with regards to the crash investigation.

East Franklin Township firefighters assisted at the scene, and Bowser’s Towing had to remove the vehicle from the ditch.
