Kittanning Truss Project

The Citizens Bridge in downtown Kittanning switched to the phase two configuration beginning Thursday, August 28 at approximately 3AM. The bridge was closed to traffic during this work that was performed overnight. Flaggers were placed at both ends of the bridge to make sure motorists did not travel into the work zone. With the southern side of the bridge painted, canvas tarps and equipment was moved on Wednesday evening to the northern side of the bridge to begin phase two. The second phase is nearly six weeks behind the original estimate due to damp weather throughout the summer.

No work is planned for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday during the holiday weekend.

The detour for phase two remains the same as phase one. Traffic is permitted to cross the bridge from Kittanning to West Kittanning.
