OBIT: Elizabeth C. “Betty” Humenik (Ford City)
Elizabeth C. “Betty” Humenik, 72, of Ford City, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
Born November 11, 1941, in Manor Township, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Vatoa) Humenik.
Betty retired from P.P.G. Industries after 30 years of service in both clerical and production positions.
She was a parishioner of Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City, and the former Holy Trinity Church. She was also a member of the Jednota Branch 200, Ford City.
She enjoyed flowers, traveling on day trips, and supporting wounded veterans programs.
She is survived by her constant companion, Charles J. King of Kittanning; three sisters: Rose Ursiak of Manor Township, Josephine Humenik of Ford City, and Margaret (Alex) Boback of Ford City; three brothers: Paul Humenik of Ford City, Steve (Angie) Humenik of Kittanning, and Albert (Marlene) Humenik of Ford City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary
Mora and Ann Battaglia; three brothers: Joseph Humenik, Sr., Charles Humenik, and Frank Humenik; and a nephew, Joseph Humenik, Jr.
Friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 7-9PM on Thursday, December 26, in the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City.
Prayers of transfer will be recited at 1:30PM, on Friday, December 27, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2PM at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City, with Father Bryan Summers as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Manor Township.
