Thieves removed a wooden rocking chair from in front of the Fox’s Pizza Den in Rural Valley. The pizza shop is located on Route 85 at White Road in Cowanshannock Township. According to the management of the store, the robbery took place between 4:00 and 4:30 AM Thursday.

A two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 422 east of Kittanning in front of the Cierra Lounge Tavern on Wednesday afternoon.
David Shields, 38, of Worthington and David Wesner, 79, of Rural Valley were traveling eastbound. Wesner, who was in front of Shields, came to a stop. As Wesner continued traveling eastbound partially in the westbound travel lane, Shields’ vehicle sideswiped Wesner’s vehicle.
Shields’ 2008 Peterbilt truck and Wesner’s 1996 Chevrolet Celebrity had minor damage, although Wesner’s vehicle was privately towed from the scene. Neither Shields nor Wesner and his passenger, 57-year-old Michael Wesner, were injured.
Pennsylvania State Police reported Shields was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

A known 54-year-old male was flown from the scene of an accident after sustaining major injuries Sunday evening.
According to a Pennsylvania State Police Press Release, the man was traveling north on State Route 1031 approximately 1/10 mile south of Gearhart Lane when he rounded a left-hand curve in the roadway and left the east side of the road before swerving hard back into the lane of travel. His white 2001 Chevrolet Silverado began to yaw as it left the west side of the roadway and overturned onto the driver’s side.
The man was ejected from the vehicle, and was subsequently flown by medical helicopter from the scene. During the investigation, it was determined that the operator had consumed alcohol. The charge of DUI is pending lab results.
The investigation into this incident continues.
