According to a news release from Armstrong County District Attorney Scott Andreassi, an early morning raid targeted 26 Armstrong County residents, netting approximately 200 bricks of heroin and more than 10 thousand stamp bags. The raid was the culmination of a seven month investigation targeting low, medium and high level dealers in the county. More than 30 thousand dollars was committed to the effort.
Andreassi said more than 50 officers comprising 6 teams across two counties (Armstrong and Clarion) coordinated their efforts. Andreassi believes that through the cooperative effort they have been “able to make a substantial dent in drug trafficking in our county.”
Those arrested were taken to the National Guard Armory in Manor Township and then transported for arraignment and then to the Armstrong County Jail. Charges range from manufacture of drugs, possession with intent to deliver and delivery and illegal use of a community facility. All are felonies and carry penalties of up to 25 years and 25 thousand dollars in fines.
