BREAKING NEWS: Drug Raid in Armstrong County

Numerous suspects are led out of National Guard Armory during drug raid early this morning.
(More details to follow in tomorrow’s edition)

According to a news release from Armstrong County District Attorney Scott Andreassi, an early morning raid targeted 26 Armstrong County residents, netting approximately 200 bricks of heroin and more than 10 thousand stamp bags. The raid was the culmination of a seven month investigation targeting low, medium and high level dealers in the county. More than 30 thousand dollars was committed to the effort.
Andreassi said more than 50 officers comprising 6 teams across two counties (Armstrong and Clarion) coordinated their efforts. Andreassi believes that through the cooperative effort they have been “able to make a substantial dent in drug trafficking in our county.”
Those arrested were taken to the National Guard Armory in Manor Township and then transported for arraignment and then to the Armstrong County Jail. Charges range from manufacture of drugs, possession with intent to deliver and delivery and illegal use of a community facility. All are felonies and carry penalties of up to 25 years and 25 thousand dollars in fines.

Good. Lock these scum bags up and throw away the key. The only problem is, we will be paying to keep them. These people are too lazy to get out and get a decent job. Instead they ruin a lot lives of people too stupid to know any better getting involved in this habit.

bluto, I’d give you a ‘like’ for your comment, but there’s no ‘like’ button in this ‘program’. I thought the exact same thing and was going to make that comment. Good one, bluto!

I see and hear many people using these drug arrests as a reason for keeping a full-time staffed police force…..which makes much sense. But, I think every town or boro would want this type of coverage, but the reality is that the funds are not there unless there are some major changes in the existing contract.

I do applaud and thank the state and local police officers in helping to attempt to rid our towns of this detrimental and deadly scourge.

I would like to see raids like these more often. That may deal more with the state legislators to open up the pocketbook to help combat this war.

Excellent strategy by Mr. Andreassi and company. These scumbags of disorganized crime have taken their toll on the citizens of Armstrong county, and something tells me this is just the beginning of the end for these, parasites on society.

I surely hope these scum bags get more than a slap on the wrist. Nothing is going to change if the Judges let them back out.
