The retainment of positions — along with changes to the meeting schedule — highlighted Monday’s annual reorganization of Manor Township’s board of supervisors.
Supervisors Don Palmer and Bob Southworth were unanimously reelected chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
As part of the changes, this year’s township meetings have been set for 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month. The board also agreed to schedule secondary meetings at 10 a.m. the third Friday of each month, an effort to avoid work conflicts for Supervisor Tag Hecker.
Other highlights of last night’s reorganization:
• Jill Davis was reappointed secretary-treasurer of the municipality. She will also serve as the township’s open records officer; a non-voting delegate to the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors’ (PSATS) annual conference; an alternate for the township’s tax collection committee; and the contact for CDL testing. Southworth will serve as the other PSATS conference delegate.
• Mark Quartz, whose term had expired, was reappointed to the board of the Manor Township Joint Municipal Authority.
• Jim McGinnis was reappointed chairman of the vacancy board.
• Tax collector Valerie Huston was reappointed to the tax collection committee.
• Palmer, Southworth and Hecker were reappointed road masters, with Southworth reappointed road foreman.
• The treasurer’s bond was set at $250,000.
• The mileage rate was set at the IRS standard of 57.5 cents per mile, down one half of a cent from the rate for 2019.
• Paul France will retain his position as chief of the township’s police department, with Terry Bish continuing to serve as a sergeant, and Mike Karabin, Eric Petrosky and Mark Brice as corporals.
• Pay rates for members of the township road crew were set at $21.50 per hour, with the second-in-command receiving $21.75 per hour.
• France will receive an hourly wage of $25, with detectives earning $21 per hour. Corporals and part-time officers will earn $20 per hour, and new hires will receive an hourly wage of $19 for the first year of their employment.
• Also concerning wages, Davis will receive $25 per hour, and the cleaning person will receive $30 per cleaning.
• Holidays were set at 13 for Davis, France and the road crew, and 11 for police officers.
• Senate Engineering Company will continue to serve as the township engineers, and Jack Steiner will remain the township solicitor.
