Kittanning Borough Councilmen Joe Kiehlmeier and Mike Johns pushed to advertise blighted borough properties for sale.
All of the borough-owned blighted properties are going up once again for sale in Kittanning Borough.
Councilman Mike Johns said he didn’t want to wait any longer to advertise the property at 512-514 Woodward Avenue during a discussion held at Monday night’s Council meeting. The property had been used as a community garden by the Living Water Church over the past year. However, Council terminated the agreement with the church at the end of 2019.
According to Street Supervisor Jim Mechling, the structure that used to occupy the double lot cost the Borough nearly $10,000 to have torn down. In a motion made by Councilman Joe Kiehlmeier, the Borough will entertain any reasonable bid, but reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Johns seconded the motion and all approved.
In addition to the Woodward Avenue property, other properties owned by the Borough on Robinson Street and Oak Avenue will also be listed for sale. For a complete listing, stop at the borough office.
Interested individuals in the property must submit a sealed bid by the close of business at 4PM on February 28. Bids may be hand delivered or mailed to the borough office at 300 South McKean Street, Kittanning, PA 16201.
