Bridge Decking Nears Completion in Rosston

New decking has been installed on the old Iron Bridge in Rosston. Volunteers have been working to add side safety rails and are nearing completion.

Work on the old Iron Bridge in Rosston is nearing completion. The bridge is part of the Armstrong Trail.

According to Allegheny Valley Land Trust Executive Director Chris Ziegler, volunteers have installed all of the decking and will finish the side safety rails this week.

Ziegler said the project was delayed slightly on October 8 when a lock had been cut off and tools were stolen from the locker. Working with a borrowed generator, air compressor, and battery power tools, the crew was able to continue their work.

Anyone with information on the stolen items should contact Manor Township Police at 724-763-9215 or dial 9-1-1.
