Road crews have spent all summer working on three different areas of Route 422 East in Armstrong County.
Motorists traveling on State Route (SR) 422, west of Elderton Borough in Plumcreek Township, will see new traffic patterns at the intersection of SR 422 and Farster/Brandish Roads.
As part of the Shelocta West Resurfacing project, crews installed a left turning lane from SR 422 to Farster/Brandish Roads. Additionally, the truck climbing lane on SR 422, near this intersection, is currently closed as crews install rumble strips, paint and pavement markings, raised pavement markers and new signage. The truck climbing lane is expected to re-open at the end of October.
The Shelocta West Resurfacing project consists of the resurfacing of SR 422, including milling of existing bituminous wearing courses, bituminous patching, paving, leveling, binder and wearing courses, minor upgrades to drainage and guiderail, and other miscellaneous construction. This project is expected to be complete in early November 2019, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
