Pennsylvania State Police in Butler are accusing a Chicora woman for stealing from an elementary sports program.
Trooper Brian Knirnschild stated in a report that he was requested to investigate improprieties in the Karns City Elementary Basketball program bank account. According to the report, Wendy J. Taylor, 40, had access to the account. She was observed on surveillance at Walmart in Clarion purchasing groceries and other items using funds from the account. Additionally, a cell phone bill was payed for through the account among other debits.
Taylor was arrested and arraigned by District Magisterial Judge Lewis Stoughton on charges of Access Device Fraud, Theft by Unlawful Taking, and Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Funds Received. She was placed in the Butler County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Police say the incidents took place in August 2019.
