Motorcycle Accident Sends Driver to ACMH

Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning just released details concerning the accident last Thursday afternoon, June 25, in Kittanning Township.

J. W. Moore, 64, from Pittsburgh, was driving his 1980 BMW R100T north on Garretts Run Road. He lost control while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. Initial impact occurred as the front of his motorcycle scraped against the roadway.

Moore was treated by Ford City Ambulance on the scene for a left-shoulder injury and pain to his left side ribs. He was transported to ACMH Hospital by Ford City Ambulance due to those injuries.

Investigating Officer Tyco Bock stated that Moore could be cited for not driving his vehicle at a safe speed. Bock said Moore was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
