Kittanning Mayor Praised the Community for Achievements

Kittanning Mayor Scott Kline took a few minutes to look at the accomplishments in his borough over the past year.

Mayor Scott Kline said that he is pleased with the beginning of his first term as a town father.

“The first year is in the books and what a year it was!” he said in making a year-end statement for the Kittanning Paper.

“We faced some high moments and some low, but all in all, the year has come together with awesome results.”

Kline pointed to several accomplishments that showcased the community.

“This year we established our Kittanning Borough Police Facebook page to assist in getting information out to the public and also enable our police officers to gain information for various aspect of their police work.

“In April we had our Take Back Your Community town hall meeting, a question and answer session with a professional panel of specialists that included the Coroner, the Sheriff, the District Attorney, 911 dispatchers, the Armstrong Indiana Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission and our Chief of Police. It was a very positive meeting with a lot of information provided.

“In June we had our Community Clean Up on the Rails to Trails from the 800 block of North Grant Avenue to the YMCA and also in the northern end of Riverfront Park.

“These are just a few of the successful events that have taken place this year.”

The Mayor’s primary job is to provide leadership to the police department. He praised the department.

“The professionalism and dedication of our police chief and police officers sure does help make the Mayor’s job enjoyable. Our most recent was our Police Department Toy Drive which ended up being a huge success story. This was all made possible from donations from local businesses, residents in our community and surrounding communities and the dedication of our police chief and officers.”

Kline took a few moments to express his optimism and thanks to Borough Council members.

“I feel the sky is the limit as we all strive together to make a difference in our hometown. I would like to thank everyone for their continued support, including the members of our borough council, as we work together in many capacities and strive to make next year even better.”
