Delays Expected on Route 66 South in Manor/Bethel Townships

More work is scheduled for Friday, Monday, and Tuesday on bridge that carries Route 66 traffic in Manor/Bethel townships.

Short-term, intermittent stoppages will occur on Route 66 between Route 2019, Crooked Creek Dam Road and Montgomery Flats Road, as part of the Oakland Cemetery Bridge project in Bethel and Manor townships.

The stoppages will impact Route 66 traffic on September 28, from 8AM to 5PM, and on Monday, October 1, and Tuesday, October 2, between 10AM and 7PM each day. These stoppages are needed to facilitate the placement of beams on the new bridge.

Motorists should expect delays in the project area and may want to seek alternative routes.

The project involves the replacement of the bridge carrying Route 66 over Crooked Creek and is being constructed one half at a time.

There will also be a ten-foot width restriction in place during construction.

This $4.06 million bridge replacement project is being constructed by Swank Construction, LLC., and is expected to be completed in December. Motorists should slow down and use caution in work zones, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices. Expect congestion and delays in the project area. Fines are doubled for violations in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the workers.
