OBIT: Karen (Fritz) Chamberlin (Kittanning)

CHAMBERLIN - Karen Diane (Fritz) Chamberlin, 72, of Kittanning, born February 14, 1946 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, passed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

She was the daughter of the late Donald Parker Fritz and Evelyn (Birch) Fritz of Indiana, Pa. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Sandra); her sons, Jeff (Julie) Wasilko, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and Mark (Bridgett) Wasilko, of Kittanning; her grandson, Mark; granddaughter, Olivia; and fifteen nieces and nephews.

Karen graduated from Indiana High School and attended Robert Morris Business College. She was a devoted mother and a friend to many. She worked as a caseworker and counselor for Self Help Alliance and other outreach groups whose mission was to assist those in need. Her leisure time was spent interacting with her grandchildren, who were the brightest lights in her life. She was a cat fancier who was never without a kitty or two. She had artistic talent that exhibited itself in her painting and crafts. Karen never had a bad word to say about anyone. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

No public visitation will be held. A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Union Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 475 Church Rd. Ext., Kittanning, Pa 16201. All friends and family are invited to share and reminisce. Arrangements are entrusted to the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
