9/26/1968 – An experiment in teach teaching and large group instruction has started at Kittanning Senior High School, Principal Charles W. Woodward said today. The approach combines two courses of American Government and Economics, both of which were formerly single semester courses, into one single semester course. Barry Steim and Thomas Schiffgens are the teachers. All seniors are required to take this course.
9/26/1963 - Fred Mohr of Cadogan, a motorman at the Cadogan mine of Allegheny River Mining Co., suffered a compound fracture of the right leg yesterday afternoon when he leapt from the locomotive as it jumped the track.

9/26/1933 - An 8 hour day for Kittanning policemen. That was the result of an adjourned special session of Kittanning Borough Council in the Council Chambers here Monday night. 2 additional patrolmen, N.B. Larimer and Frank Campbell, will go on duty October 1 to become regular borough patrolmen. Jack Herr and Thomas Wilcox will work 8 hours a day 7 days a week.
