Daily rain last week created mud conditions that cancelled one night of shows during last week’s Dayton Fair. This photo also shows a section of bleachers that was purchased from the former Kittanning High School Athletic Field. The Fair ended with fireworks at 9:30 on Saturday night.
The 2018 Dayton Fair ended on Saturday night, concluding possibly the dampest week it has experienced in years.
The Fair has been a long-standing annual event for many years. It is a week-long agriculture-based event providing family entertainment, recreation, exhibits, livestock shows, midway rides, concerts, truck/tractor/horse pull contests and a host of live bands daily.
The midway attractions this year included a petting zoo, chain saw carvings, BMX Dialed Action Sports, and vendors with an unlimited amount of food.
Harness Racing was an event that drew a sizable crowd for a mid-day event in the grandstands at the Dayton Fair last week.
Various competitions of local individuals from quilts to this display of prize winning flowers were highlights at the Dayton Fair.
Food booths and amusement rides were popular with young and old alike at the Dayton Fair.
