West Shamokin Loses a Close Game at Homer Center
by Jake DeLuca
The West Shamokin Wolves (4-4) forced four turnovers and rallied in the fourth quarter, but were unable to take down Homer Center (7-1) losing to the Wildcats 26-20.
The Wolves found themselves down 7-0 early in the first half before the Wolves offensive line opened a running lane for a Jacob Szul touchdown, making the score 7-6.
Homer Center lead the entire game, but West Shamokin was able to make things interesting in the fourth quarter when QB Devin Fairman found Bryce McClafferty twice for a touchdown and then the 2-point conversion to make the score 26-20 in favor of the Wildcats.
The score stayed at 26-20 as Homer Center picked up win number seven on the season.
West Shamokin will hope to bounce back this week as they host Northern Cambria (5-3).
