A Sagamore woman and a Dayton man sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Cowanshannock Township yesterday morning.
According to Pennsylvania State Police troopers from the Kittanning barracks, Corina Stripling, 31 was traveling east on 5th Street when she began to slide on ice. She was unable to stop her 2008 Chevrolet Impala at the Route 210 intersection and slid into the southbound lane, sliding into a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Raymond Townsend, 34.
Stripling’s vehicle then continued across Route 210 and down an embankment and into the parking lot of the Sagamore Post Office, hitting the concrete stoop and railing at the front of the building.
Both Stripling and Townsend were wearing seatbelts, but were transported to hospitals - Indiana Regional and ACMH – via Citizens Ambulance first-responders due to minor injuries.
A pair of juvenile passengers in Stripling’s vehicle was not injured and was also wearing seatbelts.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene – by Wood Pontiac Chevrolet and Mohney’s Towing, respectively.
State Police troopers have charged Stripling.
