OBIT: Peggy Jean (Johns) McAfoose (Ford City)
Peggy Jean (Johns) McAfoose, 72 of Ford City, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Allegheny General Hospital.
She was born February 16, 1943 in Kittanning to Vernon “Ben” and Lucille (Lockhart) Johns.
Peggy worked at Big River Manufacturing and owned a beauty shop in her home.
She attended Ford Memorial United Methodist Church.
Peggy enjoyed crocheting, sewing and making clothes for her dog “Baby” - who traveled with her to her dialysis and visited her in the hospital.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Herman McAfoose, Sr.’ son, Herman McAfoose, Jr. (and wife Darcy) of Kittanning; grandson, Jacob McAfoose (and Chelsea) of Ford City; granddaughter, Emily McAfoose of Kittanning; two great-grandchildren: Jasa and Mia; two brothers: Richard Toy (and Wife Loretta) of Dayton and Donald Toy (and wife Helen) of New Bethlehem; three sisters: Joyce Lamison of Kittanning, Patricia Minor of Ford City and Linda Peters of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christina McAfoose; granddaughter, Kellie McAfoose; two brothers: Vernon Johns and Henry Johns; and sister, Marge Dinger.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9PM tomorrow - Thursday, September 24, 2015 - at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
Additional visitation will be offered from 11AM until the time of funeral services at noon Friday, September 25, 2015 at the funeral home.
Pastor Ali Berkey will be officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Creek Cemetery.
